Multilateral and Bilateral Donors Profile
The Amhara National Regional State is one of the Administrative Regions in the country, which has been characterized by deep rooted poverty and socio-economic under development.
The efforts of the public, private sector and population are indispensable for the development of a given country. Withstanding those facts, the contribution of loan and grant organization also plays a vital role in filling the gap during development endeavors.
Hence,the Regional Government has been creating conducive environment, which may be expressed in terms of formulation of favorable development policies and strategies that enhance donors' intervention and project execution in the region. As a result, several donors and creditors have been attracted to the region.
Currently, there are 16 Bilateral and Multilateral Donors that are actively supporting 40 projects/programs in the region. Moreover, two bilateral and multilateral donors supported projects are under consideration for future implementation.
This document presents brief reports on the profiles of bilateral and multilateral donors and creditors supporting the region in terms of cash assistance and technical support.
The information presented in the document is obtained mainly from project/program documents as well as questionnaires issued to various bureaus .
The document has 3 parts. Part one deals with bilateral donors while part two presents multilateral donors and creditors in the region. Part 3 involves projects that are under considerations.
We hope the document will provide some basic information on donor assisted projects/programs in the region. It can be also used as a basis for subordinate structures at woreda and zonal levels.
